Beacon Pines is a cute and creepy adventure game within a magical storybook. You play as both the reader of the book and its main character, Luka.

Something strange is happening at the old warehouse, and Luka and his friends seem to be the only ones taking notice. Sneak out late, make new friends, uncover hidden truths, and collect words that will change the course of fate!

While helping Luka investigate the strange goings-on in Beacon Pines, you’ll collect special golden charms, each with a word engraved on it. These charms can be used at certain turning points in the story to fill in a blank word and drastically change everything that follows.

As the book's reader, you’ll navigate the story’s turning points using The Chronicle: an interactive story tree that branches and grows along with your choices. Exploring one set of events can unlock new charms to use on another branch, leading you to jump back and forth between entirely different versions of the story in order to unravel the mysteries at the heart of Beacon Pines.

Is Linux version still being considered?

It's pretty unlikely at this point, but it works well on Steam deck so maybe it can be played with Proton on other Linux distro's. I haven't tested it though.

May I ask which engine the game is created in?

Unity

I appreciate your response and the fact you have made what looks like a really interesting game, but I always end up puzzled by the fact relatively few developers are willing to make Linux builds, even though most if not all popular engines allow for an easy export, like Unity for example: https://docs.unity3d.com/Manual/linux.html

Hope you might reconsider your stance for this and possibly your future projects as well.

It may be that creating a Linux build is non-complex. The real problem is all of the other work involved in management, deployment, and support of the build. The same goes for Mac. Adding all of the dimensions to getting new builds out there and fully supported, it's just a bit too much to tackle for our tiny team.

That being said, I was a full-time Linux user myself in a past life, so I'll always consider Mac and Linux builds in any project. Hopefully I can make it happen on the next one.

Griffin is easily the cutest character

Game is still set as "In Development"

Oh, thanks for pointing that out. It should be fixed now.

the game doesn't look bad :)

I spent all my money on Dead Cells DLC but this looks sick

Still don't get the main idea of this game...sorry

Adored the demo when it was first released and absolutely loving the full game so far!

i got this one on my switch, its an amazing game. the art and story are really engaging. i didnt love the ending but still a great play.

Do you guys have plans to put the artbook on here as well?

That'll be up to the artist, and I think she is still deciding.

Ah okay, thank you! And also thank you for this game. ^^ I finished it last night and it was a joy from start to finish. Looking forward to your future works!

Cool game bro >:>

19.99?!

I played this game on Xbox, and I completed it in 2 days. I completely cried, when i realised it was over. So glad I watched the credits. Please tell me your making a sequel..

It's still very early for us to say, since the game just came out. But I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it (at least, it sounds like you did).

Of course I did!

(+4)

Already completed on GP. I'm really surprised by this game. I'm not a fan of visual novel games, but this one is great. The story is much darker than what you can expect and the characters are just lovely and perfectly written. Also the music is on point!

Thank you, that's very kind.

really really need a wiki 'bout this game

( amzing game by the way)

(+2)

I played the game on gamepass and it is one of the best games ever! Possible to buy the artbook on itch or your website?

I'll second this! Played it on game pass over the weekend and absolutely adored it! Thanks for making it a day one XGP release :-) I'll never see the phrase "we'd like to hear your thoughts" in the same way after this

Thank you! I'll talk to the artist to see if she'd like to make the art book available here or anywhere else.

It looks the bomb!

I love this game so much! ! !

Thank you <3

Is this getting a Mac release? :o

(+2)

A Mac build is on our radar as something we'd like to do, but I can't give a date yet.

I beat the game and I still have questions aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

The artworks and the style is lovely! I really like it.

I am very interested in this game, however it currently appears to be Windows-only. Will there be a native Linux version on release so that I can feel comfortable with purchasing it?

(+2)

There won't be a Linux version at launch, but it's something I'll definitely look into if enough people request it post-launch.

(+1)

I'd love a Linux version. I'd played the demo before switching to Linux and would love to play the full game on there.

(+1)(-1)

The great thing about a Linux release are the bug reports. Every system get bugs, but Linux users are the only ones who frequently reports them. I would never use a Linux system myself, but I do love those who do.

A very enjoyable demo. I think it's going to be my favorite from LudoNarraCon.

Glad to hear you enjoyed it!

I absolutely loved playing the demo! The art is so cute and enticing. Love the story, the characters and the vibes. Can't wait to play the full game. Do we know the release date yet?

Thank you! We're on the verge of determining a release date, so keep an eye out on our twitter or discord for that announcement in the near future :-)

I love it so far. I like the sad and friendly aspects of it while there's a lot of mystery in it. I got really spooked at the green puddle part with Beck.

Thanks for playing, glad you liked it!

will there be a linux version when this releases on steam??

Not initially, but the more we hear interest for it, the more likely it becomes.

This game looks way too fun. Watched FatsackFails stream the demo. So much potential!

Cool, I'll have to check out FatsackFails sometime!

I just came to tell you I really enjoyed the demo. I am hooked and can't wait for the game to be released!

Thanks!

I loved the demo! Glad that we don’t have to wait much to get the game.

A little feedback that maybe has been addressed already:

  • It’s awkward that Luka smiles while in his father’s grave, contrary to his portrait.
  • Some characters reuse phrases even if it looks out of their personality, like reusing “the name is”.

Probably already pulished, the game is a masterpiece, I was so surprised! Can’t wait.

Glad you enjoyed it. And we appreciate the feedback!

oh my WORD. this game is so cute! I can't wait to see it completed! the demo alone is an absolute treat!

Thank you :-)

I'm no furry but I'm about to be. I love it and I can't wait for for this game to take my money

I am absolutely IN LOVE with this game. If the demo is just a taste of what's to come then you've got me hook, line, and sinker.

As you meet the other characters and learn how the story is meant to progress the mood changes with each page and you find yourself on a rollercoaster filled with all kinds of emotions. And, seriously, don't even get me goin on the art style..I mean..just look at it!

I really can't wait for this game ..

Aw, thank you so much :-)

This was an absolute treat to play! The characters and writing were fantastic, and I'm pretty enamored with the story so far. But the art is what impressed me the most, everything is just so pretty. The charm mechanic is super interesting, and I love how easy it is to go back to different points to make new decisions! Definitely looking forward to a full release of this, props to the developers!

Fun video, thanks for checking it out!

You're welcome, thanks for creating something so neat!

I am very excited for this. Cannot wait for the full release to come out. Btw, Love your art! <3 Stay safe and take your time too.

Thanks for the kind words <3

Gave it a cute let's play, gameplay can be found here. Love the art and the characters that make me want to pinch their cheek like I'm some kind of grandma

(+1)

Thank you!  Cheek pinching welcome :-)

Cannot express how excited I am for this game. It's like Gravity Falls meets Night in the Woods.

Thank you for checking it out!

<3 <3 <3 Of course!!! Thank you for reaching out to me.

Sweet game, what a great start ! Visuals are awesome !

The story is intriguing, i'm eager to know more !

The music is nice but a bit heady, though.

It looks so interesting.I can't wait to see the full game!
